Цитата допису John Orbit:Also, for the record, I posted this after reading someone else's post, where everyone responded "restart until X item." I didn't really start thinking about the laziness of the game design until that. You can't really tell them they need to get better, so you tell them how to get luckier.

In reality, if someone is opening a thread like that, that's because he needs to get either better or luckier at the game. It's just that all the other advices also apply to the regular game, and if you start giving advices about the regular game, the owner of the thread will most of the time respond that he already knows about them. I do think the game is unbalanced, but I also think there's no correlation between this and the whole "Holding R" trend.

When people are asking advices on how to beat it, there's nothing you can tell them, except for "R", but the reason behind that isn't a bad game balance. To be fair, people are constantly asking for advices on how to beat challenges where there's actualy no specific advice to be given, as the challenge is no different than the actual game. Why? Because the devs have no clue what game balance is. Цитата допису John Orbit:Most of the advice I see for "how to beat X hard thing" involves "hold R until you get OP item." The sad thing is, most of the time, that's all the advice there is to give. With that kind of range, it's impossible to balance the game between them. Keeper is all flaws and Isaac (+D6) is all merit. In most games, all characters are a mix of merits and flaws, but not in this game. The underpowered characters need overpowered items to beat the cheap-♥♥♥ bosses, which makes the normal characters suddenly overpowered. If you find one of those stupidly OP items on an Isaac run, you're just shooting fish in a barrel. The flip side to this is that it makes everything else way too easy. At that point, it's not a challenge of skill, it's just a question of luck. With 400+ items, most of them being crap, the odds of geting what you need to win the hard stuff are insanely slim. The only way to win some challenges is to become stupidly OP. Keeper is barely even playable unless you have the right items. Most of the advice I see for "how to beat X hard thing" involves "hold R until you get OP item." The sad thing is, most of the time, that's all the advice there is to give.
